It may interest you to know that Brandon was once like you… a spunky, mildly awkward owner of a design and manufacturing company who was frustrated by the small number of tools available to help guys, and girls, like him manage their businesses. The tools that were available were either unaffordable, or unnecessarily complicated and unintuitive to use. And he wasn’t alone in this. As Brandon traveled from street fair to trade show, he realized most of the wholesalers and manufacturers he met were still running their businesses with pen and paper. If they were really fancy, they occasionally had some sort of custom Excel spreadsheet. The fact that most people’s facebook friend lists were managed more effectively and efficiently than their businesses got Brandon thinking…
Years of careful comic book reading and impressively average sports participation had taught Brandon the value of assembling a top-notch team before attempting any major mission. In May 2010, Brandon recruited Michelle to sign on and handle the project’s artwork and design and in November, the two managed to snag Jake to lead sales and marketing. Two months later, Stitch Labs was born.
Stitch Labs was officially launched in January 2011. Based in San Francisco, the company’s motto is, “We grow our business by helping you grow your business”. Sounds pretty good, right? Stitch Labs aims to be the thread that holds the many different aspects of a business together. It is the hope of Brandon, Michelle and Jake, that, with users’ feedback, the site will continually evolve into an even more powerful and intuitive tool to integrate businesses’ tasks into a single, united process.
